Well, as you probably realize Jack, most young people never think that old age will ever happen to them and that age 64 is old! But I sure am glad that so far it looks as though he will live to that ripe old age!:lol:

He composed the melody at age 15, according to A Hard Day's Write, shortly after he joined John in the Quarry Men.

"At the time, he had written it out of respect for the music of the Twenties and Thirties, which his father had played as a young man. Although, the song was written with his father in mind, it was coincidental when it was eventually released. "
