every long-running show has it's good seasons and it's not-so-good seasons, a few even have horrendous seasons.

Of your fave shows, what seasons would you consider the worst?

I don't hate it but, season 1 of the Odd Couple. Different set, laugh track and the Pigeon sisters.

So I take it you didn't like Horshack's Wedding or the ep where he gets drunk and not to mention the final ep where Epstein and Freddie had a boxing match? LOL. Yeah the last season was a waste of time.

The first season of The Facts of Life wasnt really needed, IMO.

Out of my favorites I could do without season 7 of Family Ties and seasons 1 and 2 of Mama's Family. Every season of Cheers is essential.

the first and last Buffy's, while both have some good episodes, are IMO the weakest seasons of the series bar none. The last season is kinda painful to watch, especially the last 5 or 6 episodes, poor Xander's eye, poor Anya, etc... Plus, waaaaaaaay too many characters were added the final season that it disrupted the flow of the show

I know Matt and Trey (the creators) disagree with me as they consider it their finest season, but I think the third season of South Park was their absolute low point, the "let's shock" formula that was so great in seasons 1 and 2 ran it's course this season, and they hadn't yet transformed into a brilliant social commentary/parody like they have been since season 4. Season 3 has a few classic episodes like Rainforest Schmainforest and Chinpokomon (a parody of Pokemon), but there are even more bad episodes like Sexual Harassment Panda and the 3-part Meteor Shower episodes. Matt and Trey were making the SP movie for much of this season, and it shows because they were saving the best material for the film.

The last 2 seasons of Sex And The City really weren't that good, I just still watched because I remembered how great the show was in it's 2nd, 3rd and 4th seasons. The last season especially became a melodrama, and I expect to laugh when I watch S&TC.

I've never been too hot on the first season of Facts Of Life, way too many girls, and what fun is Blair without Jo to counterpoint her? I wasn't too fond of the final season either, there was some good episodes the last season, but you could tell everyone involved except for Cloris and Mackensie Astin were ready to see it go.

The third season of Queer As Folk was definately it's low point, luckily the writers decided to put in better storylines this (season 4) season. The storylines regarding Justin joining a "gay supremicist" group and the reprocussions and Brian's diagnosis of testicular cancer were much better than any of the stories in season 3.

I don't like the show as much as I used to, but if I see a Cosby Show episode that says "and Erica Alexander as Pam" in the credits, I am turning the channel, those last 2 seasons were horrific. But I've seen so much Cosby Show I can go a decade without watching again.

I never was too crazy about the first season about Family Ties, I guess I never could get used to seeing Michael Gross without the beard (well, I know he is clean-shaven a lot these days... but I mean, as the character of Steven Keaton I always see him in a beard). Plus, I admit that I liked it when Alex, Mallory and Jennifer were all older.

I love the first 3 seasons of Suddenly Susan, VERY underrated. But in all honesty, the show should've called it a day after season 3 when David Strickland killed himself. Right afterwards Judd Nelson and Andrea Bendewald left too, and they changed the setting of the show and none of the replacements were ever as good as Todd, Maddie and Jack, and the show plummetted from the 30's and 40's to the 100's and the final episodes weren't even aired until 2 in the morning nearly a year after they were supposed to air. I think they should've just done one final "goodbye" episode at the end of the 1998-1999 season AFTER the Strickland tribute show, because everything went downhill after that.

The final season of Ally McBeal KILLED the series. That's all I'll say because the awfulness of that season speaks for itself.

The final season of Ellen KILLED the series too, and almost killed her career. I mean, a lot of us cheered for her when she came out at the end of season 4, but she sacrificed a very funny show to make it a weekly commentary about "I'm Ellen and I'm gay" and everything that was so great about the third and fourth seasons (IMO, these two seasons was when the series gelled and became a great ensemble piece) was pushed aside to be Ellen's weekly "this week I'm going to tell my dentist I'm gay" storyline, and even gay activists lost interest because the show stopped being funny in the process, and Ellen's supposed to be funny.

I could do without the following seasons:

* the last few seasons of The Andy Griffith Show, especially the episodes with Howard Sprague and no Barney Fife

* the first few seasons of Coach, especially the episodes with Kelly storylines

* the final couple seasons of Family Matters (especially when they focused on "3J")

* the final season of Laverne and Shirley

* the final season of Perfect Strangers (all six episodes!)

* the final two seasons of The Waltons sans Michael Learned

* the final season of The Wonder Years

Why don't you just put a dagger in my heart and twist it slowly?

What do you have against Sue Ann, Nancy, Cindy and Molly?

They could be guest stars on the show. The first season of FOL had nothing to do with the rest of the show.

Seasons 6-8 of The Andy Griffith Show, because once Don Knotts left, so did the humor. TAGS sucked without Barney Fife.

lol... I think the reason season 1 of FOL is so unpopular is that a lot of us who grew up with the "Jo/Blair/Natalie/Tootie" formula never really were able to see the other 4 girls as equals. Plus, there were just too many girls to really establish their personalities, whereas when it was the four of them, it was a lot different.

FOL wouldve never worked if it hadn't been for the first season.
If the series started with Season 2, it couldnt possibly make any sense that a "new girl" (Jo) is there having to adjust to the "regular gang" (Blair, Tootie, Natalie, and even Mrs. Garrett)

Seasons 7-8 of The Cosby Show, because simply -- the character of Pam sucked.

Season 9 of Roseanne, because it was useless, and the series couldve wrapped up at the end of Season 8.

I don't even consider seasons 7-8 of the Cosby Show as really Cosby. They let Pam dominate way too much with herself and her own cast of characters. It go to the point where she got much more time than the REAL Cosby kids. As far as I am concerned The Cosby Show cheated and should have really only been a 6 season family comedy. I'm anti-Cosby anyway because it is so overplayed, but those are my thoughts.

Last season of Welcome Back Kotter
First season of Odd Couple - I agree with BD about the Pigeon Sisters
First season of Different World
Last season of Three's Company - though I still love it, that's my least favorite season
First season of Saved By The Bell : The New Class

The Andy Griffith Show - Season 6/7/8
I never liked the show at all, but the seasons without Barney were much worse than the Barney seasons.

The Beverly Hillbillies - The Color Episodes
The B&W episodes are enjoyable, but the color episodes are just...ick.

Diff'rent Strokes - Season 7 or 8
I didn't like Sam or Maggie very much, and I missed Kimberly when she stopped being a regular. Sam was annoying, and Maggie was also annoying at times. There were still some good episodes...like the episode where Kimberly had bulimia and when Sam went missing (too bad he didn't stay that way).

The Facts of Life - Season 1 or 9
Although I do enjoy the first season, it seems a bit off. Season 9 just wasn't as good as 2 - 8.

Laverne & Shirley - Season 8
Laverne without Shirley is just wrong...

Three's Company - Season 8
By 1983, the show just wasn't very fresh anymore.

Welcome Back, Kotter - Season 4
It wasn't the same when Kotter and Vinnie stopped appearing regularly. I didn't like Beau very much.

Ditto.

The last half of the 3rd season and the last (4th) season of Route 66. Sucked without George Maharis.

Kotter's last season, like others have said.

I Love Lucy's last season.

Although I don't hate any of these seasons, these were the seasons I feel were the weakest of each show.

The Odd Couple: Season 1 (1970-1971)
M*A*S*H: Seasons 9-11 (1981-1983)
Welcome Back, Kotter: Season 4 (1978-1979)
Happy Days: Seasons 1-2 (1974-1975) I like the later years.
Wings: Season 1 (1990)
NewsRadio: Season 5 (1998-1999)
Boy Meets World: Season 1 (1993-1994)

The final season of Chico and the Man. They should have quit what happened to Freddie Prinze.

Tara I'm surprised that you would choose the 6th season of Good Times especially since Florida returned to the show.

I SO AGREE, the show became the Cousin PAM show because it seemed to involve her, ugly Charmaine and Lance all the time. And her dumb boyfriend Sly. You saw less and less of Rudy, Vanessa, and Theo.

Dont Know exact seasons but will try to get it right....

TCS - The season Olivia joined the cast till the end, there were a few episodes that were okay but not enough to make the season enjoyable

Different Strokes - When that annoying red headed kid joined the cast

A Different World - Anything after Dwayne and Whitley married

Alice - After Flo left

Dukes of Hazzard - When they got the new Duke boys

Who's the Boss - When Sam went to College

Family Matters - Last two seasons

All in the Family - When the Bunkers had that little girl move in

Cheers - All the Rebecca seasons

FOL - Every season after Ms Garret left

Roseanne - The season there was no Becky and the last season

Friends - The first season and the season Rachel had her baby

TC - The last season

Wings - The season Alex was on the show

Family Ties - That season Jennifer went crazy over saving the earth - favorite seasons were before Andy was born but can tolerate the seasons with him

Growing Pains - The season Carol went to college and Mike moved to the garage till the end of the show

Wings- The last two seasons. I think Joe and Helen's wedding would have been the perfect series finale.

NewsRadio- The last season, but I don't consider the show to have "jumped the shark" because the writers had no control over Phil Hartman's death.

The Cosby Show- the later years.

The Simpsons- Most of the episodes created during the Mike Scully years (seasons 9 through 12). Still had some classics though.

Happy Days - The later seasons without Richie.
Once the "Fab Four" split up, it was never the same again. The later seasons should have been it's own show, not Happy Days.

The Andy Griffith Show - The Color Seasons.
The new characters such Howard Sprague never really filled the void of Barney Fife. The show should ended after Barney left.

The Lucy Show - The Fourth Season.
Had a lot of unbelievable storylines that weren't fulled developed. Vivian Vance was no longer part of the show by this point.

Three's Company - Post-Chrissy Seasons.
3's never was able to the save the magic after Chrissy left. Believe or not, Chrissy added a lot to the show which she was sorely missed.
