many actors who have one tv show will wind up in another as well, who are some actors you loved as one character, but didn't care for them on another show you've seen them in?

Some examples for me:
Alyssa Milano, I always thought she was incredibly overrated when she was in Who's The Boss, yet I love her on Charmed.

Suzanne Somers, thought she was great as Chrissy, yet didn't like her much on Step By Step

Markie Post, she didn't do much for me on The Fall Guy, but I think Night Court entered it's peak when she joined.

Mike O'Malley, he was great as the lead in Life With Roger, had his moments on Yes Dear (even tho the writing was the downfall of that), but yet when he tried headlining his own namesake show, it backfired and was so bad he nearly quit the industry

Charlie Sheen, was never comfortable in Spin City, probably because he just wasn't much of a replacement for Michael J. Fox, but yet does a pretty good job on Two And A Half Men

Emma Caulfield, I didn't like her much when she played on Beverly Hills 90210, but yet she stole many a scene when she played Anya on Buffy

Betty White, was great in Golden Girls, Mary Tyler Moore and Mama's Family, yet she was awful in Ladie's Man

Peter Krause, didn't like him on Cybill, yet thought he was great in Sports Night and Six Feet Under

anyone else have ones?

Although he's one of my least favorite characters on the show -- I liked Ted Danson on Cheers, but never even liked Becker.

Joe Rogan - I loved him as Joe Garreli on "NewsRadio." However, I don't like him as the host of "The Man Show."

it is truly a shame he is better known to most as the Fear Factor guy than for Newsradio

See, I hated "Full House" and "Two of a Kind" was ok but "So Little Time" was their best show IMO, especially the later episodes.

Kelsey Grammar, loved him in Cheers, thought he was highly overrated in Frasier, plus he was ALOT funnier on Cheers

Valerie Harper - LOL funny on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Was not good in her spinoff series, Rhoda, and was good on Valerie/The Hogan Family

Bess Armstrong - Great on All Is Forgiven and Our On Own. Did not like her in My So-Called Life. Also she was great on Married People. Too bad she gets good quality sitcoms that do not last.

Nancy Dussault - She was good on the New Dick Van Dyke Show but was given a fair chance to display her skills in comedy in Too Close for Comfort.

Meredith Baxter Birney - Liked her as Nancy Lawrence Maitland on Family. On Family Ties, good show as it was, she was not that great. Comedy is not her strength.

Marla Gibbs - Great on The Jeffersons but was not funny on 227.

Suzanne Somers - Loved on her on Step by Step but could not stand her during her last two seasons on Three's Company. They made Chrissy outright dumb to a point of coming across as a retard.

Linda Lavin - Great on Alice and Room for Two. Her last series Conrad Bloom was horrible. She did not fit in.

In my opinion:

John Ritter was better for the role of the Rev. Matthew Fordwyck on The Waltons than Three's Company.

David Schwimmer was much a better actor in his role as Karen's boyfriend/husband in The Wonder Years than he was for Friends.

Alia Shawkat is much better suited for the role of Hannah Rayburn on State of Grace than for Arrested Development.

Let me also add that I thought Mary Tyler Moore was better in her role as Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show than she was on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Four more!

In my opinion:

Don Knotts was better as Barney Fife in The Andy Griffith Show than in Three's Company.

Fred Savage was better as Kevin Arnold in The Wonder Years than in Working.

Suzanne Somers was better as Carol Foster-Lambert in Step By Step than in Three's Company.

Ben Stein was better as Mr. Cantwell the science teacher in The Wonder Years than in Win Ben Stein's Money.

Ron Glass Loved him to death when he played Detective Harris on Barney Miller, one of the most handsome African American Men I have ever seen!
Hated him as Book on Firefly..all I can say is that Ron did not age very well:(

I watch The Waltons just to see Rev. Fordwick! I Love Jack, but his role as Rev. Fordwick is soo Sweet and different than Jack. Both these roles really showed what an amazing actor he was.:(

I thought Shelley Fabares was great on One Day at A Time as Francine Webster. She was so convincing in that role to a point I was angry with her. On Coach her role was boring and not allowing Shelley to display her wide range of comedy she is good at. Plus I always had a crush on Shelley.
