The horrible singing 17 year old somehow escapes elimination and moves on. I'm truly stunned.

well, she'll get bashed on all the entertainment shows, that's for sure. I cant believe Fantasia and LaToya were in the bottom 2...it's just really wrong to me, and...well nevermind. Jasmine will definitely be out next week, tho.

She knew she deserved to go, and the audience let her know too.
Are people tone deaf? Or are kids just voting for her hundreds of times because she's closer to their age? LaToya has the better voice!

but remember, Jasmine was crying...so that made ppl feel so sorry for her...and plus LaToya lacks that certain personality!

I think Latoya is still going to get a record deal. I think she is one of the best singers in the last two seasons (I didn't watch season one) and I'm not exagerrating.

I'm still disgusted, though. Jasmine should have been in the bottom two and apparently her tears got her more sympathy votes. I'm a big fan of her but I think she should go next week. If any of the other two are eliminated before she is it'll be a joke.

What if everyone cried? Then who do you vote for? She shouldn't win based on sympathy!

I can't even comment properly on this. I'm too excited.

Paula looked upset...they showed her for like 1/2 second, and she had her back turned and was like, really crying, and Randy had his arm around her...

coming from a Jasmine fan. Jasmine should have gone home tonight, without a doubt.

But ahhhhh when it came between Fantasia and LaToya, i wanted LATOYA TO BE SAFE!!!! She was supposed to win this thing. Aaah. Nooooooooo. Well, atleast ppl cant blame me, because i didnt vote for jasmine last night, because i didnt want to put her through another week... my votes were mainly too Diana, and i also gave a few to laToya... none to Fantasia though.

aaah LaToya has the best voice, and she wouldve given the American Idol title more credibility.. however the thing that went against her was that her first performance which was just okay, and again, the lack of personality. She has improved her personality, but I agree with what Simon said last night to LaToya.. we know nothing else about her..

but on the bright side, LaToya will definitely get a record contract, and she will be AWESOME in the future.

I think Jasmine should not even bother singing and sit on the stage and cry the whole time, that'll get her more votes than her singing.

im still a jasmine fan, but i am no longer voting for her.

Well, was this really SO suprising? The girl was up on stage bawling. er. I'm not really a fan of La Toya, but she was the best on the show. She's gonna be fine without AI. I think La Toya's big problem is that I don't think she connected with the younger voters, the ones who vote for the full 2 hours and hundreds of times. Unless Jasmine drastically steps up in her game I really think she'll go next week. If she doesn't people will end up hating her and act towards her the same way people did with John Stevens, sadly. I'm just glad Fantasia didn't go.

On one hand, I think it's RIDICULOUS that Jasmine is still around. On the other hand, I'm ecstatic because Diana is probably going to be in the top two now. Jasmine is going to be getting lots of backlash this week. Good luck to her. Tears go a long way apparently. Are any Jas fans planning on voting for her next week? If she does make the top two, I think she'll be Justine Guarini.

I have to admit, Diana really should win American Idol!

It's a funny thing. How many voted this week? Usually it's in the 20 millions, so I imagine this week was like usual. You'd think Jasmine Pity Votes wouldn't make enough of a difference to keep her around... let alone keep her from the bottom two. Yet again, she's around. This week it's more blatant than ever: She does TERRIBLY... even Paula can't hide that fact, she balls her eyes out after attempting the fake smiles she is so famous for. And what happens? The girl will get at least 3rd place!

I'm stunned, stunned, stunned. That's all I can say--Stunned. I shouldn't be though. This year you've come to expect ridiculous voting outcomes like this.

lau

Stunned is the right word. I have been a La Toya fan since "All By Myself," which could have been the best song of the year so far. I hoped she would win. I really enjoyed the sound of her voice. Undoubtedly she was the best singer. I could actually imagine hearing a voice like hers on the radio, unlike Fantasia. Additionally, I really liked her personality even though some have criticized her for not showing enough. She has shown nothing but class and composure. She looks like a true professional on stage. She never complained, gave attitude or broke down in tears. Well, we will see what the future holds for La Toya.

Meanwhile, I don't now why I still watch this show. The voting is ridiculous. After tonight's results I almost swore off the show completely, but I'm sure I'll be tuning in next week to see Jasmine, the female John S., implode on national TV. I feel bad for Jasmine too, but next week won't be pretty.

Now, I go off to sulk "all by myself."

Yeah, I have a feeling that if Jasmine won, some people would get mad, and boycott her CD. She might be like John Stevens, that's what people say.

If Diana wins, it'll be great!

If Fantasia wins, it will be ok, but I might still buy her CD if she wins.

I'm going to vote for her because I want Jasmine and Diana in the top two because I know Diana can beat Jasmine. I'm not sure Diana can beat Fantasia.

Btw, Jasmine isn't a terrible singer, she just hasn't had any really great performances lately. She needs to step it up.

I don't see why Latoya is said to have no personality. Just because her personality wasn't wild like Fantasia's doesn't mean she doesn't have one. I'm down that Jasmine still in but if people wanted to vote for her for sympathy then thats their choice but its not helping her, next week she'll be probably end up in the same situation agian not to mention people will stop liking her at all because she looks bad compared to the others.

I think it'll be better to see Diana in the finale with Fantasia (im assuming that all of Latoyas votes will go to Fantasia), rather than Jasmine and Fatnasia, and seeing Jasmine literally get beaten down
