Does anyone else like this band? I've just discovered them recently and am trying to get into them properly but there's so many different spin off bands (like Hot Tuna) and so many albums, that it's really impossible to know where to begin.

So far I've only heard four songs: White Rabbit, Somebody To Love, We Built This City On Rock n Roll and Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now, but I LOVE what I've heard and would like to know what CDs are the best to buy for someone who's a newbie to this group.

How ironic that you are discovering them now. Blender voted Starship to have the worst song ever with "We Built this City."

Jefferson Airplane/Starship, is a band that music goes through modes along with band members, which makes it, in my opinion, a difficult band to follow. I like them, but there isn't any one album that I can recommend. I think with them you just have to listen to what you like and choose that way.

Some other good songs are:

Stranger - this one really rocks
Jane
Find your way back
Miracles
Count on Me
Runaway
Layin it on the Line

I love Jefferson Airplane when I'm not hearing it....I guess I've heard some songs one too many times and it just annoys me now, but I could never hate that music......

there is a Greatest Hits compilation out that combines the Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Starship hits all onto one collection, probably your best bet since it's the only way to get both White Rabbit and We Built This City together, as well as JS hits like Find Your Way Back
