Do you like that short cut Toni (Jill Marie Jones) is sporting on the show? Should she leave "Girlfriends" and join the cast of "The L Word"?

I thought she was wearing a wig. I can't tell real hair from wigs and weaves on tv shows anyway. The short hair at least makes it easier to tell her apart from the other character who is divorced with the son. They look like sisters although I know they're not related on the show. In the picture above which is Toni, the one on the end or the one in the middle? Who is Jill Marie and who is Golden Brooks?

Jill Marie Jones is the one who is next to Joan in the picture up above & Golden Brooks is on the end. I like Jill's short hair. Jill should stay on Girlfriends. Why would she leave the show & go to The L Word? The L Word shouldn't even be on tv. Who wants to watch a show about lesbians anyway? Oh i know the answer to that, lesbians & guys who like to see women have sex LOL. It trips me out how straight men don't like gay men but they like lesbians. Gay is gay. If u don't like gay men, u shouldn't like gay women either.

I mentioned "The L Word" as a joke concerning her hair being cut short.

LOL@MarvinG. It's not strange to me that straight men like lesbians but don't like gay men. Straight men have this fantasy of seeing 2 women have sex anyway. Why u think they watch pornos? LOL. Vashti1999 my bad. I didn't know u were joking. Does every woman on The L Word have short hair? What is Pam Grier's character on that show? Is she gay on the show? I don't watch the show cause i don't have Showtime.

It's like straight women who adopt a gay man or men as their buddies because they think they can be friends with them in a way that a straight man wouldn't want. They think a straight man would only want to have sex with them or view them as a sex object first and foremost. A lot of these women catch feelings for the gay men too and hope to get with them.
What I don't know is if these straight women are generally leery of being friends with lesbian and bisexual women because they think that they would try to seduce them.
Sistah Souljah had a chapter in her autobiography No Disrespect about her lesbian college roommate who tried to seduce her. She wasn't feeling that at all.
In another chapter she talked about her first boyfriend in college who backed away from her after a few months and when she confronted him he said it was because he had feelings for a dude. She said that when he told her that she lost all feelings for him immediately.

I will never understand people being gay. It's sick to me especially to see 2 men have sex with each other. I'm surprised Sister Souljah had a man cause she's ugly LOL. She's a educated sister though & i like that about her. She speaks her mind about a lot of stuff & that's why she was in Public Enemy rap group for a minute. Chuck D must've liked how educated she was cause he's a educated brother who's not afraid to speak his mind about certain things.

Hi, I following you all over here. didn't know they had a Girlfriends board. I like Toni's hair either way. Although I don't watch the show that much anymore, I got bored with it.
Oh and to add to the conversation regarding homosexuals, you should pick up the new book by J. L. King called "On the Down Low" it talks about straight black men who have sex with men.

They're in denial! They're not straight if they have sex with other men! If that's the case my Pontiac is really a Jaguar on the D.L!! :D

I dont see why they dont describe themselves as gay, or even bisexual. There is not anything wrong with saying you're gay if you're gay. I think it's sad that because of the stereotype that african american men have to be macho, they feel threatened within themselves to be identified as gay.

Jet is a weekly mag. And yes he is on the cover this week.
I also saw the CNN story. It is amazing and your right these are gay men if they are having sex with other men. But who knows maybe it is their fetish. But I think it is very wrong that they are bringing this back into their homes and to their families.

Wasn't there an episode on about 2 weeks ago (a rerun I guess) where one of the girlfriends' friends had full blown AIDS and got it from her boyfriend/husband who was a down low man? I saw it only in passing. This kind of plot has turned up on other shows like ER and I think one of the Law and Order shows.
On another topic, the way Lynn sleeps around you'd think she would have gotten some STD by now.

I wish i would've seen the episodes where William & Lynn were sleepin together. I had no idea they were doing that. Lynn makes bad choices in men on the show LOL. When Saul Williams was on the show as her man, he was the one who didn't wanna have sex with her until he was ready. He was holdin out for some lame reason. That dude needs to shave LOL.

Lynn and William were married for convenience. I don't watch regularly to know why or even if they were having sex. William would probably sleep with any and all of them if he could.

Actually it wasn't her choice to marry William. It was William's idea. He wanted to beat Joan to the alter when it seem like she was marrying Brock. But after he didn't want to have children, they broke up and William was stuck with Lynn! Now that was funny in a stupid kind of way!
By the way Toni's hair look like a wig, a bad wig!!

Except for Tracy Ellis Ross I can't tell whose hair is real and who is wearing a weave in this show. Wigs are nothing new for black women on TV though. Diahann Carroll almost always wore them on her various shows and so did Isabel Sanford and Ja'net Dubois. Even some white actresses wear or have worn wigs or extensions. Men have worn them too when they are going bald.

I think Toni looked better with long hair.

It looks better- more feminine lately since it is growing out. I can't tell which of those women have weaves and which have real hair. Tracey Ellis
hair appears to be real- but the others might have weaves. I always confuse Jill Marie and the other actress, they could just as easily have cast them as biological sisters because they look and even behave the same way to me.

I think Golden Brooks looks much more exotic looking than Toni, but yeah, the both have weaves. The other two have their natural hair.
I haven't caught the show in a couple months...what's going on? Last time I watched Toni found out she was pregnant..
