...Fiona Apple? I remember her back in 1997 or 1998. Nobody has ever heard of her since then. It's like she faded into obscurity. I wonder whatever happened to her?
Memories? Opinions?

I thought she was ok during Tidal but When The Pawn... is really good and made me a fan. I hope she releases something new soon.

I was JUST thinking about her today. Weird. I never think about Fiona Apple because I was never a big fan. But I do wonder what happened to her.
Does anyone remember her speech at the VMA's one year (I'm thinking it was 98)? She was a little strange.

Yeah I rememeber her speech, she was upset with the fans for being fans, and telling the fans that they need to get a life, but she did it not to bash, but to get them to not worship celebrity. I really liked what she had to say. I like her music, the Pawn CD was her best, I hope she is recording. She did a great version of the Beatles "Across the Universe."

Yeah, when I first heard the speech (I watched it "Live") I did kind of think, "Alright. Something different for an exceptance speech. And she has a good point." A while ago on VH1 (Or maybe MTV) they were bringing up old moments and talked about it. It was kind of funny the way the show put it: Fiona was saying not to listen to celebreties, yet she was basically saying "listen to me" about NOT listening to anyone else. But ya know, it was just one of those oxymoron things that had to be done to get her point across. So really, she made sense.

I actually downloaded "Criminal" the other day for something. I hadn't thought about her in a really long time. Anyone know what she's doing now?

i didnt hear much of her music but i remember her for her album called "when the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king what he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring theer's no body to batter when your mind is your might so when you go solo you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of height and if you know where to stand then you'll know where to land and if you fall it won't matter 'cuz you'll know that you're right."
