Well, not really. Punky Brewster and Family Ties and others are owned by different companies. Shout! Factory is the company responsible for releasing Punky Brewster. Just like Paramount would be responsible for releasing Family Ties and Warner Bros. with Growing Pains. The different companies have no control over each other when it comes to their respective releases. Now if Punky Brewster were being released by Paramount or Warner Bros. above better shows, that would be a disgrace :)

I noticed you have Sex And The City bolded as the entire series. Actually, only the first 12 episodes of season 6 is out May 18th, the last 8 episodes probably will be out around Xmas... I find HBO stupid for doing that, season 6 was only 2 episodes longer than seasons 2, 3 and 4.. and they got complete sets

no offense to S&S fans, but why are Columbia releasing those in such a speedy pace, yet Jeffersons and All In The Family (both of which's season 1 came out before S&S did) are still only at season 2. Nothing against S&S, but you'd think Columbia would be rushing Jeffersons and AITF at the faster pace considering both ran considerably longer than Sanford did

Mine too. And I have TWO immediate family birthdays in June, and one of them is going to be a big one...Family comes first this month...but in July, nothing I like is coming out so I can spend wildy :)

Looking at the list (first post in this thread), it's interesting to see how from the start it was only months between releases of the Sanford & Son sets while it's been a longer wait for All In The Family releases. Also, HBO has released Sex and The City sets practically to the same day in late May, year after year. All five seasons of the Dick Van Dyke Show in the space of nine months, and seven seasons of Friends within two years: pretty darn good for fans of those shows. I wish more shows would come out more frequently.

I never really understood Columbia's fast pace for Sanford And Son, when you consider how sluggishly they release The Jeffersons (season 1 came out the same day S&S did... and they're only on season 2), All In The Family (season 3 just came out), Mad About You (been over a year since season 2, no season 3 in sight) and plenty of other shows in their library. Especially annoying when you consider that S&S only ran 6 seasons compared to 11 of the Jeffersons.

That's something I thought about early on, that the Jeffersons would be the one more frequently released and Sanford & Son would be spread out a bit because of the fewer seasons, just my assumption that they wouldn't have one lag behind the other. It's become obvious though that there's no ryhme or reason to Columbia Tristar's release patterns. They rarely include extras and probably don't work on the picture quality of the older stuff, so how much could it cost them to just go ahead and put out more All In The Family/Jeffersons dvd sets?

NewsRadio is coming out May 24th, 2005. I'm glad a date has been picked, but I'm ticked that it's so far away. January, February March, April and then May. This, for a set that was supposed to be out 2003. It'll be Summer time.
