One of the editors from TV Tome is saying the show has already been renewed for next year. See the last post in the linked thread.

Aw-RIIIIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! :) Although "Ed" has now been officially cancelled (they auctioned the props from the New Jersey production offices two weeks ago!), and "Frasier" is ending its run, I still have a reason to keep my TV set! I'll be with "I'm With Her" all the way! :) :)

Imagine, if you would, Tiger Woods after a seemingly impossible, yet utterly breathtaking and successful putt. Yep, that's what I could have done after hearing about this.
THANK THE BROADCAST GODS!!! This is some of the best news I've heard in a long time. I've never been so caught up in a show that my contentment in life was riding on its return the next season. Okay, maybe not that extreme (Sapphire says, knowing that it really is that extreme), but seriously, it was going to be one of the biggest heartbreakers if they didn't bring it back.
Looks like the 2004-2005 season is shaping up to be another extraordinary time. I couldn't agree more with Steve. I'm with I'm with Her till the last frame of the last episode. May that be many years away. :)

The worst part about all this is the fact that we shouldnt even have to worry about this. If "I'm with Her" were anyplace else on the schedule we are talking a Top 25 show. But, since it goes up against "American Idol" which basically is aimed at the same audience it sits down in the 50's.

As I noted on another thread, some TV critics are finding "American Idol" growing long in the tooth, and it could be that Fox might do to this show what ABC did to "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire." This will all be irrelevant in relation to "I'm With Her," though, if it's moved to Fridays, which might actually happen.

I agree....."I'm with Her" is the perfect show for the 9:30 slot of TGIF. Hopefully the programers at ABC are at least as smart as we are.

That's great news! I didn't want to get my hopes up, knowing my past history of having my favorite shows from ABC be canceled before their prime, so this is a pleasant surprise to me! :)

I hope this is true BUT the new tv guide was saying that there is word that the only ABC sitcom to be renewed will probably be HOPE AND FAITH :(

I don't know, TV Tome is a pretty reliable source. :)

Unless I see a link to a newswire I won't believe it. I hope it is though.

Hope & Faith is a give-in. Ules something goes terribly wrong, it will be back. As for I'm With Her, don't believe anything you read until ABC confirms it at the upfronts on May.

In the meantime, let's keep writing ABC to let them know we want "Im With Her" renewed! The postal and electronic mail addresses are on the "So what is the verdict?" thread.
And let's all cross our fingers.

If it gets Canceled Blame American Idol

Here ya go:
Episode 3 "The Smarty Party" 10/7/2003 (week before American Idol started) Ratings: 7.9/12, 12.3 million viewers. Ranked #27 for the week.
Episode 4 "The Musical" 10/14/2003 (American Idol's season debut) Ratings: 5.4/8, 8.5 million viewers. Ranked #58 for the week.
Now you would think ABC executives would see that they have a solid Top 25-30 show in any other timeslot. Hopefully that is true.

By the way, that TV Tome message board indicated that Chris Henchy himself was insisting that "I'm With Her" will get renewed. Maybe he knows something the rest of us don't? ;)

Nobody knows anything. This is all hype. ABC won't make a decision on what they are picking up until they look at all their new pilots coming in.
