Was there a film with Barbera Streisand (I think it was her) and near the end she is flying away on a plane, looking out the window, kinda crying- and the man she's left behind is singing (along with sum others)-one line is about how he loves the way she used her knife or somethinG?

almost sounds like you're discussing Bodyguard with Whitney and Kevin Costner.
the movie doesn't sound familiar with me, I've seen a few of Streisands movies, but none of them fit that profile at all (I've seen Yentl, Main Event, Nuts, Prince Of Tides and Mirror Has Two Faces), I know Way We Were had a famous sad ending, but it didn't involve a plane that I know of.

It maybe the remake of "A Star is Born" with Kris Kristopherson.
Hope that helps.

"What's Up Doc" featured a plane scene at the end, but she definitely wasn't crying (or sad). Maybe you were dreaming of "The Way We Were" and "What's Up Doc" at the same time, and thought you were watching a movie, no??

I thought so too when i was younger. I saw it on tv as a kid and really liked it. So when it came out on dvd last year, I rented it since it had been a while since I saw it. For some reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I did as a kid. It was still fun, but something just didn't feel the same, I don't know.
