What are some of your favorite movies about the past? Right now I find myself to be enjoying movies that are about/set in the 40's-60's.

Roll Bounce was a lot of fun. I didn't expect to like it, but I did. GREAT soundtrack.
A GREAT movie from 1965 is A Patch of Blue with Sidney Poitier, Elizabeth Hartman and Shelley Winters. It's about the friendship of a black man and a blind white girl. It was VERY daring for its time and maybe still is to some degree. But it's a great story of love, friendship and loyalty. I would recommend it to anyone.
Inherit the Wind was great. It was made in 1960 and set in the 1920s, based on the Scopes Monkey trial. It starred Spencer Tracy, Gene Kelly, Frederic March and our beloved Darrin #1, Dick York.
