Hey kids, I have a question...

My roomie and I were discussing the plot of the new Jim Carrey flick "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind," in which Jim's character erases all his memories of an ex girlfriend.

An interesting premise, don't you think?

If given the chance, would you have any bad memories drained from the ol' brainpan, or would you keep em?

Bonus points if you share the bad memories with us.
Don't worry, it'll be our secret.

;)

I don't know. Sometimes my bad memories can be good because they set a precedent for me. Like the time I sent an expletive-laced e-mail to my teacher 6 years ago. After that incident, I know what would happen if I were to think of doing something like that again (I wouldn't do it now, of course). Plus good things can come out of bad things. If I hadn't sent that e-mail to my teacher, I probably wouldn't be where I am now (graduated from a private school with a high GPA and the starting catcher for my old school's championship softball team).

I've lived a very sheltered life. I don't have that many bad memories. I prolly wouldn't want to do something like that though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would. Bad memories, or bad events that may have had an effect on me later on, I'd erase all of those, no doubt about it.

Even though I have learned from them; I would erase them because they can bring great deal of pain and hurt and I have no use for them anymore:D

I wouldn't do it, but I would definately send my friend to do it. She broke up with her boyfriend over the summer and he has a new girlfriend now. She had a boyfriend, but broke up with him cos she couldn't stop thinking of her ex. He's taken over her life... all she ever talks about and thinks about is him.

And he hates her.

So she needs that really badly.

No way. I cherish my memories. Even the bad ones, I could never erase.

Some I would. I have a really good memory so I can remember all of the bad things that have happened to me as well as the good and not many bad things have happened to me (and the ones that have are super minor like mispronouncing someone's name or forgetting to do something that I really should have done). If I could just have those memories erased, then I would.

I think my brother wants his memory erased so that he doesn't remember watching "Eternal Sunshine....". He hated it but I loved it. It's really not for everybody.

I'd erase my oldest brother away from my mind. He's a vicious, bitter, hateful person, and my mind would be a better place without him in it
