Guys,

I was browsing a site about movie reviews and there were many mixed reviews for a movie that was made a few years ago called "My Dog Skip." It's a touching story about a young boy and his dog. Is this a good movie? I am an animal lover and am very sensitive to any animals in pain or getting hurt. I can't take that. One of the reviewers said there is a scene where the dog in the movie is kicked by the boy???....what's that about? I am tempted to avoid the film because such a scene involving animal crulty--I can't take that. Some say it's good, others say it is too sentimental, others say it is sappy. I cried for days when I saw Bambi and Old Yeller was a tough one for me--so maybe this is a film to avoid. What are your thoughts?

There is one scene in it where a guy hits Skip with a shovel (it is off-camera, of course) but Skip survives.

I, too, don't like watching a movie with animals getting hurt or being in any danger. I know it is fake and that no animals are harmed but it depresses me.

It's a wonderful and touching movie, based on a true story that I think is definately worth watching.

Frankie Muniz loves Skip more than anything, but there is a moment in the movie when he's angry and frustrated so he kicks him. There were scenes that moved me to tears, and I highly recommend seeing this.

As for seeing any type of animal hurt or even killed in a movie, I hate it too.
